Cystoscopy

A cystoscopy is a procedure where the inside of the bladder and urethra are examined using a fine telescopic instrument called a cystoscope. This is a quick procedure taking only a few minutes. When using a flexible cystoscope, it can be performed with either local anaesthetic gel or sedation, depending on the patient’s preference.

A cystoscopy is a quick and easy way of finding out what is causing your symptoms such as blood in the urine, problems passing urine and as a check-up for certain bladder conditions.
