Vasectomy Reversal

This procedure is performed to restore fertility in a man who has had a vasectomy previously.

The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic, through one or two small incisions in the scrotum. The two ends of the cut vas deferens are then identified and prepared for reattachment with fine stitches using microsurgical techniques.

Sperm may not immediately be present. There are many factors that affect the success rates following vasectomy reversal including the time since vasectomy, complications at the time of vasectomy, partner’s age and fertility status.
